Business and technology in Ontario

This city is built around movement. Ontario International Airport (ONT) is a major air cargo center, including a large UPS operation, and the I-10, I-15 and SR-60 all cross town. Huge distribution and fulfillment centers fill the industrial areas south of the airport, serving retailers, third-party logistics firms and freight forwarders.

Hotels, the convention center and Toyota Arena draw business travelers and events. Ontario Mills, a large outlet and entertainment mall, anchors retail on the east side. In the south, Ontario Ranch is turning former dairy land into new neighborhoods, schools and commercial centers. Kaiser Permanente's medical center and many clinics serve the area, alongside government and professional offices near the airport.

What that means for your IT

Logistics operators run around the clock, so downtime costs money every hour. Warehouse management systems, carrier portals, EDI connections and handheld scanners all depend on stable internet and networking. These companies are also common ransomware targets because attackers know they cannot afford to stop shipping. Continuous monitoring, tested recovery plans and strong sign-in controls matter more here than in a typical office.

How we support Ontario

From Burbank we usually take the 210 east to the 57 and the 10, or the 210 to the 15 south. Expect roughly an hour to an hour and a quarter depending on traffic, more around shift changes and holiday freight peaks. Monitoring and help desk work happen remotely. On-site visits are scheduled, subject to scope and technician availability, with travel time confirmed when you book.

Ontario IT support: common questions

Our warehouse runs two shifts plus weekends. Can support cover those hours?

Help desk hours and any after-hours options depend on the plan you choose, and we spell them out in writing before you sign. Where round-the-clock security monitoring is needed, we set it up with a managed detection and response provider and agree who gets alerted. Alerts for critical failures, such as a dead internet line, reach the right person quickly.

Why would attackers target a distribution company?

Because downtime is expensive and the pressure to pay is high. Attackers also go after shipping and invoicing emails to redirect payments to fake bank accounts. Multi-factor sign-in, email filtering, monitored endpoints and offline backups reduce that risk. Training staff to verify payment changes by phone closes another common gap.

We are opening a new building in Ontario Ranch. When should we start on IT?

Ideally three months before move-in. New construction areas sometimes need carriers to extend service, which takes time. We plan cabling with your contractor, design Wi-Fi for the warehouse floor, order a primary and backup circuit, and schedule install days so systems are tested before the first truck arrives.

Can you set up IT for a temporary office or event team near the airport?

Yes, as a scoped project. We can plan temporary networking, laptops, Microsoft 365 accounts and printing for a short-term office or event team. Hotels and venues usually have their own internet rules and vendors, so we coordinate with them in advance. Setup and teardown visits are scheduled ahead of time.

What if a drive, SSD or NAS fails?

Stop using the device and call us. We diagnose first and quote before any recovery work. Equipment can be dropped off in Burbank or shipped to us, and we can advise on packing it safely.
